Birthday Plans – 30th Edition

On March 7th, I turn 30 years old. I’m not too happy about the update in age but do get very excited for my week-long birthdays (If you’re not doing week-long birthdays, start this year. They’re great). So the event planning side of me of course has been bugging Tharon for all the details since the middle of January. I’m telling him I want hundreds of balloons, a bounce house, kiddie games, and all the fun parts of a typical birthday party (at 5 years old). He looks at me like I’m crazy and realizes I’m serious, hahahaha. If you haven’t realized it yet, Tharon spoils me and if I have an idea on something, I stick with it.

Okay so it’s a great idea for a 30th Birthday Party but we’re not forking over all that cash for a drunken carnival of friends and fun. It still sounds so great, maybe!? Meh, Tharon has done something even better!

A few days ago, Tharon tagged along my travels for the work day. He doesn’t do that often but it was fun for a change! Anyways, after a long day of interviewing candidates for a new position and being ready to head home, I went to find Tharon. When I found him, he had a big grin on his face and mentioned he had finished planning my birthday. Although I was skeptical, he was SO happy so it had to be good, right!? I’m sure by now you’re wondering, what the %$#@! did he do!?

Well. He got us a reservation on The Lebrewski Cruise hosted by Kyle Hollingsworth from The String Cheese Incident!! The cruise goes to the Bahamas, is completely beer related, and has a decent lineup of bands. I could not be happier and can’t wait to explore some of the Bahamas with Tharon!!

Also, the cruise is the week before my actual birthday so I’ve settled on inviting friends and having beers at Founders Brewing Company (see how great week-long birthdays can be!?).
